Abstract

|
Even though Crohn's disease is a rare one in oriental area, it is important to recognize this entity because of its high rate of recurrence, the absence of a absoulte curative treatment, its severity and the complications that occur in some
patients.
Crohn's disease has been a challenging problem to most surgeons for its diagnostic difficulty, frequent cases of surgical indications, poor surgical output and recurrent tendency. We experience a case of young woman who manifested panperitonitis
due to
small bowel perforation who underwent emergency operation without suspicion of Cron's disease. We report this case with brief review of literatures. (Korean J Gastroenterol 1994 ; 26 : 869-873)
